From Bold Colors to Streetwear: The 7 Best Looks
from London Fashion Week 2023

The enthusiasm of London Fashion Week is unparalleled by anything else in the world. The innovative and forward-thinking designs that emerge in our nation's capital throughout each new season provide us with a wealth of ideas for what to put on our bodies in the next weeks and months. The London Fashion Week 2023 was not an exception, and the trends that have emerged for this season have us itching to go shopping. The 17th through the 21st of February saw a return to traditional British style on the catwalk, and we've chosen our 7 favourite looks from the week to demonstrate that London is still one of the top fashion capitals in the world.

The streets of London have taught us a lot, and if you're seeking fresh ideas for outfits, there's no better place to start than there. Whether it's stylish pieces or statement eveningwear, you'll find it all there. Let's go into the seven outfits that absolutely cannot be missed from London Fashion Week 2023:

Look #1: Let's Face It, Accessories Make the Look

Why not spice up your style with some bold accessories like a standout purse and jewelry by taking some design risks? The vibrant colors and eye-catching patterns that accessories add to an ensemble are impossible to ignore. That is the simplest way to spruce up an otherwise simple denim outfit, so why not go all out with fashionable accessories such as a set of colorful earrings or a patterned purse that will turn attention everywhere you go? This look is sure to make a statement.

Look #2: All About the Chunky Chelsea Boot

It's not always about making a statement when it comes to fashion; sometimes, it's more essential to focus on how comfortable and sure of yourself you are. Because of this, the chunky Chelsea boot was the focal point of this style. Chunky Chelsea boots are a hassle-free method to achieve this appearance while maintaining a chic aesthetic. With this combination, you'll be completely prepared for the arrival of spring, which is just around the corner. To be even more fashionable, why not go for a white lace-up boot – it has “spring” written all over it!

Look #3: Hands up If you Live in Leggings

Leggings may not be the trendiest item in your closet, but they are undoubtedly an essential part of any wardrobe. However, that doesn't mean you can’t make them look fashionable! Try swapping out basics like a sweater and flats for something more unique - such as stirrup leggings paired with block heels – to take your style from day to night in one easy step. This trend was abundant on the runway this year, and it is certainly one we can rock out. If you opt to pair it with a mini skirt or eye-catching top, there's no doubt - you will look sensational!

Look #4: Head-to-Toe Color Blocking

Why not take a page out of Libby Page's fashion playbook and opt for an outfit that has head-to-toe color blocking? Putting up an outfit like this is the ideal approach to display your own identity while also having some fun with fashion. It was necessary to add accessories in hues that matched in order to guarantee that the appearance would be consistent. The inclusion of white accessories, such as shoes and a purse, helped to break up the color blocking and give the look depth; we especially appreciate how Libby manages to repurpose a winter classic for spring as well.

Look #5: Fringed Wool Jacket

The Toteme fringed wool jacket has been seen on red carpets all around the world, and its design was developed over the course of many decades. Those who are looking to keep one step ahead of the trends should definitely invest in a scarf coat since it is very adaptable and works well for making a move from one season to the next. Because it has an oversized shape, this piece is ideal for layering over your favorite outfit or for use as a solo statement piece.

Look #6: Double Denim is Back

A strong reminder that double denim is making a comeback and looking better than ever was provided by LFW2023. You might go for an all-denim outfit if you're feeling very daring. This suit aimed for softer tones to provide the impression of cleanliness that the wearer was going for. When coupled with either black boots or sandals, the whole style may be dressed up or down to suit the requirements of any event. The denim shirt is, as it always has been and always will be, an adaptable garment that you will be able to use again and again.

Look #7: The Trench Coat

Last but not least, the trench coat is an absolute must-have for anybody seeking to make a sartorial statement. This season's take is all about texture and attention to detail. A black leather belt gives the traditional beige color of the trench something extra, while slightly oversized buttons create a sense of drama. The combination of these two elements makes this the perfect coat to pair with a dress or skirt, making it an ideal staple for those who wish to transition their wardrobe from winter to spring. The subtle texture of the fabric gives this look a touch of sophistication that will set you apart in any crowd.

Overall, LFW2023 was an exciting opportunity to witness some inspirational fashion trends that should not be overlooked. From color blocking to all-denim looks, there are so many ways in which you can make a statement while also looking timelessly chic. Whether you opt for a micro mini skirt or the classic trench coat, you can be sure that you'll stand out from the rest of your peers in the most fashionable way possible.

After the past fashion seasons of scaled down shows and reimagined presentations, New York Fashion Week was back with a slew of runways, red carpets, and events. This season, over a hundred designers and brands showcased their latest designs, presenting what they imagine today’s modern woman will want to wear in the Spring/Summer season to come.

Of course, amidst the plethora of designers and collections crammed into a week of shows, there were those that stood out from the rest.

Fendi
The Italian brand crossed the pond to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its iconic Baguette bag. For a bag that earned its It status in the streets of New York and on the arm of Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw, it was only fitting that it be feted in the Big Apple.

The brand presented it’s Resort 2023 collection, which was partly designed by Marc Jacobs, who Fendi designer Kim Jones called for the special collaboration. Together with Silvia Fendi, the three designers presented a collection that combined the glamour of silk and sequins with the pragmatism of utility jackets and jumpsuits. The collection also included a collaboration with Tiffany & Co., with the jewelry house encrusting the double-F logo on Fendi Baguettes with diamond baguettes of their own. The highly anticipated show reached a culmination with supermodel Linda Evangelista walking down the runway to a crowd of attendees that included no less than Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, and Kate Moss.

Proenza Schouler

Another milestone that was celebrated during New York Fashion Week was the 20th anniversary of Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough’s Proenza Schouler. Their latest collection was one that particularly reflected their own roots. Fringed dresses, crocheted separates, ruffled trousers, and polka dot prints exuded a chic Latin flair that stemmed from Hernandez’s Cuban ancestry. The designs were complimented by hair and makeup that gave the models a sun kissed, fresh from the beach look. It all exuded the delight of summer and the sensuality of a hot summer day.

Twenty years since they were first hailed the new It boys, the designers have firmly established themselves among the stalwart stars of New York Fashion Week.

Gabriela Hearst

Known for being among the designers pushing for genuinely more sustainable and ethical fashion, Gabriela Hearst’s spring/summer collection continued to showcase those values. Her clothes did not only celebrate women but was a form of female empowerment in itself. Molded gold leather that resembled a hard shield was affixed to soft black jersey and a cream pantsuit was embellished with intricate gold embroidery. These were among the designs that conveyed the strength and softness of a woman.

The collection also included the type of luxurious handiworks that, over the past seasons, have become easily associated with the brand. Beautiful loosely knitted dresses in gold and multicolor were among the many eye-catching silhouettes. The theme of female empowerment did not end with the designs. Hearst featured a cast of models that included the former president of Planned Parenthood, as well as other outspoken activists and advocates.

Brandon Maxwell

Brandon Maxwell’s sophisticated woman has been having a lot of fun. The designer, who’s become known for his chic designs with clean lines and refined glamour, has loosened up this season. His tailored blazers were paired with t-shirts and sequined skirts, while well-cut slip dresses were worn over tank tops. The designer seamlessly combined the casualness of a graphic t-shirt with the glamour of a full, length sequined skirt. It conveyed an afterhours kind of style, belonging to a polished lady who likes to have fun and let her hair loose. His latest collection exuded the type of high/low style that continues to make his designs so appealing to the multi-faceted, modern woman.

Tom Ford

Last but not least is Tom Ford. The former chairman of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), presented a collection that was star studded in more ways than one. Madonna, Chris Rock, and Ciara were among those in attendance, eyes trained on looks that were somewhat reminiscent of Ford’s heydays at Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent – high in drama and rich in glamour. Sequined patches, shirtless and shimmering pantsuits, provocative bra tops, sheer dresses, and skin baring gowns were all on show. True to the Tom Ford DNA of sex, glamour, rock and roll, and, of course, luxury, his latest collection delivered on all counts.
