The Bocuse d'Or, or World Cooking Contest, is a biennial competition for chefs worldwide, held in Lyon, France. The contest features tough eliminations in countries and continents, culminating in a final 5 hours and 35 minutes where 24 teams showcase their culinary skills. Danish chef Brian Mark Hansen took home the gold medal at the most recent competition in January 2023, with Norway and Hungary winning silver and bronze respectively. In recent years, Scandinavian countries have dominated the podium, often competing with each other. This year's competition was another closely contested chapter in the story of Nordic culinary excellence.
