Kenya-based fashion e-commerce start-up ShopZetu has secured a $1 million pre-seed funding round to expand its operations in the East Africa region.
Led by Chui Ventures, the investment also saw participation from Roselake Ventures, Launch Africa, Logos Ventures, and other investors. ShopZetu plans to utilize the funding to trial regional delivery services in markets such as Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda.
The e-commerce platform primarily focuses on selling fashion products from local and regional manufacturers, with a goal of increasing the number of vendors on its platform to 1,000.
ShopZetu aims to become a comprehensive lifestyle platform by adding international fashion labels and expanding into beauty and home categories. Co-founded by Marvin Kiragu and Wandia Gichuru, the company aims to be a one-stop shop for customers.
