15 Minutes Quick Cabbage Stir Fry Recipe

Our diet is not complete without vegetables. However, many individuals have trouble eating their veggies

People find it challenging to eat the recommended amount of veggies, whether they are children or adults. I can personally connect to this since I used to be one of those individuals who found it quite challenging to consume veggies. I wouldn't eat them even if I purchased them. Here's how to prepare a quick and easy cabbage stir fry dish that takes the least amount of preparation. Enjoy it with a meal as a side dish like tortillas, spring rolls, sandwiches, wraps, and even plain rice.

Section 1: List Your Ingredients

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup shredded cabbage

0.5 cup shredded carrot, onion, bell pepper (optional)

Green chilies (optional)

0.5 teaspoon black pepper crushed

Salt (optional)

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon Hoisin sauce (or oyster sauce, optional)

0.17 teaspoon vinegar (like rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar)

Directions:

1. Mix the soy sauce, vinegar, and hoisin sauce in a small bowl and set it aside.

2. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or a pan.

3. Add the green chilies and garlic and stir until the mixture starts to brown.

4. Stir-fry the vegetables for 2 to 3 minutes or until they are half-cooked but still crisp. Set the heat to high and keep stirring.

5. Stir in the black pepper. Pour all the sauces and stir.

6. Stir-fry the vegetables for a minute to cover them with sauce. When the cabbage is still crisp and slightly cooked remove the pan from the heat.

7. As soon as it has cooled, transfer it to a serving dish.

8. You can add extra salt and pepper.

Pro tip:

  1. Chop the cabbage and soak it for two minutes in warm (not boiling) water. Remove them, and rinse in cold water. Drain it entirely ( no moisture)

  2. You may exclude any sauces and season your food simply with salt, pepper, green chilies, and red pepper flakes.

  3. To include eggs in your meal: In a separate dish, beat a few eggs until they are fluffy. Add them to the pan when the veggies are halfway cooked. Cook them until they are set (over medium heat). Stir-fry both, and then add the sauces.

  4. To include chicken in your meal: In a separate pot, cook the chicken and shred it. Add the chicken after the vegetables are halfway stir-fried. Stir-fry both for a minute, then add the sauces.
